When our patients arrive at Casa Colina Hospital’s Acute Rehabilitation Unit, they are truly ready to begin the work of recovery after an injury or illness. Quite often, they have been referred to us from other hospitals around the region, country or world.
Doctors trust us to provide the specialized rehabilitative care their patients need for a number of different medical conditions, including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, stroke, neurological diseases or disorders, amputations, orthopedic difficulties, multiple traumatic injuries, chronic pain, non-healing wounds and burns, chronic pulmonary diseases, and other disabling conditions.
Our inpatient rehabilitation care is among the most intensive therapy program available anywhere. Our board-certified physiatrists will be there for you, and our licensed rehabilitation nurses will promptly attend to your needs and monitor your progress day and night. Plus, we have over 200 other multidisciplinary physician specialists on staff to develop the optimal course of treatment for each individual.
You'll work with a clinical team of professionals, including experienced licensed therapists, who will help you regain cognition, strength and mobility as quickly as possible. Your treatment will consist of three hours of rehabilitation custom-tailored for you, a minimum of five days a week. This includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, neuropsychology, and much more.
Perhaps that sounds like too much in your current state of health. Actually, it's just what the doctor ordered. You see, we only accept patients upon receiving a doctor's referral and having one of our physiatrists or a licensed nurse liaison conduct a thorough evaluation of your health condition. Patients must be a minimum of 14 years of age and 110 pounds to be admitted to Casa Colina Hospital's Acute Rehabilitation Unit.
What's more, this inpatient rehabilitation hospital’s program is designed to meet the criteria for your diagnosis as specified by Medicare, Federal guidelines and insurance providers.
Regardless of why you or your loved one is admitted to Casa Colina Hospital’s Acute Rehabilitation Unit, we will use everything at our disposal to help achieve the results you desire. We offer a state-of-the-art facility that features hyperbaric chambers to accelerate the healing of wounds, isolation rooms to promote an infection-free environment, specialized therapy gyms, aquatic therapy pools, outdoor therapy gardens, plus on-site access to diagnostic imaging and laboratory services. It’s also comforting to know that our state-of-the-art Medical Surgical Unit is just steps away should your health condition require acute medical care.
