Did you know that infants and toddlers up to 3 years of age can benefit from comprehensive therapy? Our three Early Intervention Programs are designed to help children with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, seizures, Autism, pre-maturity, and a host of other diagnoses reach their greatest potential.
The following early intervention programs are offered at the Casa Colina Children's Services Center and are funded through the Regional Center:
As with all our early intervention programs, the Early Start Program is focused on developing goal areas of gross motor, fine motor, sensory, communication, cognition, socialization/play, and self-help. Children work individually and in groups, with their parents and child therapy instructors, as they rotate through a series of activity centers. Individual Service Plans help ensure that each child's therapeutic goals are structured to meet their unique needs, as well as those of their family. Occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists consult with the team to ensure the highest level of care for each participant.
Our START Program offers comprehensive one-on-one instruction to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, helping them build social, sensory-motor, play, communication, adaptation and cognitive skills. Children and their families participate in six hours weekly of specialized speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and other specialized pediatric therapy. Our treatment plans can also incorporate expertise from a behavioral specialist, who may consult with you or the clinical team to address problematic behaviors associated with autism. Our clinicians will offer insight about your child's complex needs through individual and group meetings at the Children's Services Center, at your home, and in the community.
Our In-home Program offers the broad range of therapeutic treatments incorporated in our other Early Intervention Programs, but is facilitated by specially trained Child Therapy Instructors outside of the Casa Colina campus. The goal of the In-home Program is to help introduce effective therapeutic activities that can be performed by parents in the home and community.
