Augmentative & Alternative Communication
Comprehensive evaluations and personalized treatment
Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare offers a weekly Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) Clinic for individuals who:
- Understand significantly more language than they are able to express
- Attempt to use gestures, pointing, eye gaze, and/or nonverbal vocalizations to communicate
- Are unintelligible a majority of the time
- Are able to speak only at the word or short phrase level
- Have a degenerative condition likely to cause significant speech decline within the next 1-2 years (e.g. ALS, Parkinson’s disease, MS)
Let Casa Colina help you or your loved one overcome communication problems that may be interfering with quality of life. AAC services are currently offered by appointment only at the Outpatient Services Center at Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare. Physician referral is required.
