About the HCAHPS Survey

To qualify for a star rating, hospitals must have received at least 100 completed HCAHPS surveys within a given quarter. Casa Colina's five-star rating reflects its consistent dedication to exceeding patient expectations and delivering exceptional care.

The HCAHPS Survey is a standardized national review that measures patients' perspectives on hospital care. Developed by CMS and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the survey covers critical aspects of the hospital experience, including:

  • Communication with nurses and doctors

  • Responsiveness of hospital staff

  • Communication about medicines

  • Discharge information

  • Care transition

  • Cleanliness and quietness of the hospital environment

  • Overall hospital rating

  • Willingness to recommend the hospital

HCAHPS star ratings are assigned based on hospitals' performance on these measures, providing patients with an easy-to-understand way to compare hospitals and make informed decisions about their healthcare.
