PhD Graduate Leads Clinical Trials to Improve Neurologic Rehabilitation

Located on Casa Colina's 20-acre Pomona campus, the Casa Colina Research Institute (CCRI) is currently conducting more than a dozen research studies to improve patient outcomes for neurological disorders such as stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injury. Directed by Emily Rosario, PhD, all research at CCRI is a collaboration of doctors, scientists, and other rehabilitation professionals who understand the unique needs of these complex patient populations.

Dr. Rosario became CCRI's Director in 2012 after attending graduate school at the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology. Since that time, she has grown CCRI from just one employee to 10 and has collaborated with researchers at USC, Harvard, CalTech, and more. She was recently interviewed by her former alma mater to discuss ongoing projects at CCRI as well as the career path that led her out of academia and into medical research.
