Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare is pleased to announce that it will implement a new electronic health record (EHR) called MEDITECH Expanse, effective May 1, 2023. The new, state-of-the-art system offers an unprecedented opportunity to improve healthcare delivery at Casa Colina.
By streamlining information sharing across Casa Colina’s clinical and support teams, the MEDITECH Expanse system will improve the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of patient care at Casa Colina. The system is also designed to engage patients and family more effectively, offering improved and timely access to patient health information. And, with enhanced security features, MEDITECH Expanse provides the highest levels of security for patient health information.
MEDITECH securely stores each patient’s information into one centralized record, creating a comprehensive picture of the patient’s health that is accessible to all of their care team, from case managers to therapists to doctors. The fully integrated, state-of-the-art system features intelligent functions that allow for continual enhancements to improve patient care.
“I believe our transition to MEDITECH Expanse presents a wonderful opportunity to improve both healthcare delivery and data security here at Casa Colina, and I am confident our patients, staff, and doctors will embrace this change as we adopt a more modern system,” says Kelly Linden, President and CEO of Casa Colina.
“While this change is exciting, it may also present some logistical challenges as we undergo implementation,” says Linden. “We ask that our patients, staff, and physicians remain patient and collaborative as we complete this changeover.”
As part of the update, patients will have additional functions coming soon. In August, Casa Colina will launch a new patient portal called MyCare. This fully secure, HIPAA-compliant portal will allow patients to access personal health information, obtain medical records, refill prescriptions, and communicate with their physicians, all from the convenience of their personal device. The portal will be accessible via the Casa Colina website and will also be downloadable in app form.
