Casa Colina Hospital has received recognition as one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery™ for the third consecutive year. Given by Healthgrades®, this achievement reflects Casa Colina Hospital’s outstanding clinical outcomes for Spine Surgery and puts Casa Colina Hospital in the top 10% of hospitals nationwide in this category.
The Casa Colina Spine Program is a leading provider of services for patients with back, neck, and spine pain. Casa Colina’s continuum of spine and back care includes medical, rehabilitation, imaging, and surgical services, enabling Casa Colina to tailor a treatment plan that is unique to the unique needs of each patient.
Casa Colina Hospital was also recognized with the following achievements:
- Spine Surgery Excellence Award™ (2022-2023)
- Five-Star Recipient for Spinal Fusion Surgery (2021-2023)
A five-star rating indicates that Casa Colina Hospital demonstrates patient outcomes that are significantly better than expected in the given category.
“Our Spine Program continues to assert itself as a premier provider of surgical services for patients with spine and back conditions who require this level of care,” says Felice Loverso, PhD, Casa Colina President and CEO. “Thanks to our top-quality clinicians and patient-first approach, I am confident we will continue to achieve the excellent outcomes that have earned us this distinction.”
Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals for specialty care. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between America’s 100 Hospitals for Spine Surgery and hospitals that did not receive this distinction. From 2019-2021, patients treated at hospitals receiving the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery Award have, on average, a 41.3% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.*
“We commend Casa Colina Hospital for their ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care to patients undergoing spine surgery,” says Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “Consumers can feel confident that America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery have demonstrated their ability to deliver consistently exceptional outcomes.”
